Cardio is great for your heart, your lungs and for longevity.
But, if you're doing cardio to lose that excess fat, you're using the wrong tool. Want to learn what you really should be doing?
Over the years of working in a gym, I've seen so many men and women just want to spend hours on the treadmill or elliptical. When I ask them their goal for doing it, they all answer the same way - to lose weight.
When I ask them where'd they get that info, it's always...
Some trainer or some article in a fitness magazine told them to do cardio to lose weight.
Why does that happen?
Most trainers are lazy. They want you to get all hot and sweaty so it seems you're doing something. But those programs are just meant to keep you busy. They are not designed to get you long-lasting results.
And, over time, those cardio routines result in no fat loss. NADA, NOTHING, ZILCH!
Now, why is that?
When you only focus on cardio, a number of things happen.
You end up hungry, so you eat more than you should.
Your body actually starts to lose muscle.
So, while you might lose a few pounds, your body starts to store more fat.
You've seen the look - soft and flabby.
And, you basically break your metabolism.
To lose fat, you have to get your metabolism working efficiently.
When you fix your metabolism, the fat melts away easily.
So, here's my tip for you.
If you want to lose your fat permanently and get your metabolism back on track...
You need to strength train at least 3x a week.
The beauty of strength training is you can do it with either bodyweight exercises or free weights.
Why strength training?
Because building lean muscle tissue ignites your metabolism. That kickstart gets your metabolism working efficiently and at full capacity.
When that starts to happen, your body becomes a fat-burning furnace 24/7!
And, that is one of the pillars of my 12 Week Metabolic Ignition Program™.
